Less than a Week

Well… it’s been a while since my last update, so here’s the scoop…

Over the course of the past month or so we have gone through a lot of changes with the vehicle.  From reconstructing the rear axle, to cutting 18 inches off the rear end of the vehicle and creating the dome cover/roll bar, a lot of work has been done.  With all the excitement we are ready for this year’s competition.

This Friday we are off to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the 2009 ASME Human Powered Vehicle Challenge.  There are currently seven students attending (from CCSU) and our advisor.  Of the eight of us going this year, six people can fit in the vehicle (not at the same time, but individually) so we will be competing.

On Friday, we will start with the design presentation and vehicle display.

Bright and early on Saturday, we will be competing in the Sprint Event.  Afterwards I’d like to check out the Utility Event.

On Sunday, we will be competing in the endurance event; because we have a female rider this year, we will be able to start the event with the rest of the group.

No matter what, this event should be fun and exciting.
