2010 Human Powered Vehicle Challenge- East

This past weekend (May 7, 8,9, 2010), the CCSU Human Powered Vehicle Club competed in and hosted the 2010 Human Powered Vehicle East Coast Challenge.  Our team did relatively well in the event we competed in.

I would like to briefly thank our team of drivers: Josh, Shayna, and Charles (fantastic job driving); our parents (our lap counters and pit crew); Rob (awesome graphics); Justin (the team videographer and photographer) Ben (organizing the event); Dave (our advisor: for pushing through the build process and organizing the competition); and anyone who help make this com

Fall 2009- Sping 2010

This spring it looks like we will be hosting the 2010 ASME Human Powered Vehicle, East Coast Challenge.  We are still working out details, but it is looking good.

As far as build the vehicle, we are ready for the new semester and will be building a replica of this past vehicle, "Ripped Rider".  The new vehicle will be slightly smaller, much lighter, and more aerodynamic.  Many members of our team will be returning and our advisor will be advising from the road as he will be away, studying Human Powered Vehicles this semester.

Post- Competition

It has been a while since I last wrote something here... at this year's competition we did very well.  Our top speed this year was 35+ mph, hit by Joe S.

Unfortunately, there was an issue with the Endurance course and the endurence event was turned into a Double Elimination - Drag Race Bracket.  As much fun as this was, the Endurance Event was what we were prepared for.

All in all, we had an excelent weekend.  Thanks to everyone who went to the event!
